Does the moniker ‘Upper West Side’ conjure up images of tree lined streets filled with brownstones just off Central Park? Atlanta’s Upper West Side — is.not.that. It’s an up and coming traditionally industrial part of town with fluid boundary lines that has an influx of development (both commercial and residential) occurring now. It’s an area of town absolutely full of potential and that potential is being realized. The name is here to stay…and… there is a 280 acre park coming in the future (Westside Reservoir Park). Not quite Central Park but a massive green space nonetheless. I had the pleasure of attending a Bisnow event specifically geared toward the Upper West Side with an excellent panel discussing the development occurring in the area.
Where is the UWS?
As noted above, the boundary lines are fluid. see: hotly contested and ever expanding. For instance, the boundary lines noted below don’t quite reach the West Side Reservoir Park.
Northern Boundary – Moores Mill Rd
Southern Boundary – Huff Rd
Eastern Boundary – Howell Mill Rd
Western Boundary – Marietta Blvd
